  14. I lived in an apartment complex in Cupertino (California) for about 6 months.
  15. I had paid $350 as rental deposit. Due to transfer of job to Fremont, I had to
  16. move to Fremont, after giving 1 month notice of moving(as per the agreement 
  17. signed). When asked for my rental deposit, they said they would send it in 2 weeks.
  18.      After about 10 days, they (my former apartment) sent me just $70 along with a
  19. letter which vaguely said that "not clean", "needs cleaning", "needs painting", 
  20. "unusual wear of painting" etc. We are sure that we left the apartment in almost 
  21. the same state as it was when we had moved in. We (especially my wife)
  22. maintained the apartment very well and spent the last week of our stay there
  23. cleaning almost every inch of the apartment. This being the case, I do not know
  24. on what basis they can deduct about $300? I am very astonished how can they cheat
  25. public this way.
  26.      Under the above situation, what option I have to recover my rental deposit
  27. back? I shall be grateful, if any one of you can provide me with information.
