- Right terms, wrong explanation. The various "gold card" rental car policies
- are indeed secondary coverage, which means that they pick up after your regular
- car insurance ends. If your normal car insurance covers $20,000 in damages and
- you do $27,000, they pay the other $7,000. If you don't have a car yourself,
- and hence no regular car insurance, then these policies are, de facto,
- primary.
