- Messages to ECHO, the department of humanitarian aid to the "third world" of
- the EC can now be faxed via SUNET.
-
- The fax numbers are:
-
- Mr_Molinier@f0093222992876.fax.sunet.se
-

- Please hasten to fax, if you will be so kind. Please let me know if anything
- goes wrong with the faxing.
-
- I'm going to call the Washington Post, and hope to fax them also, to say
- In a country full of guns, with not enough food, there will of course
- be looting.
- To withhold food on the grounds that there is looting is a recipe for
- genocide with a built-in excuse. But the excuse will not hold up.
- I respectfully urge our State Department to act immediately on the
- recommendations of many relief workers: FLOOD THE COUNTRY WITH FOOD.
- Doctors Without Borders headlines its new report THE COUNTDOWN TO
- DEATH OF A WHOLE GENERATION.
- They say:
- "Only massive food aid will allow for a reduction of tensions and lessen
- the attacks on humanitarian aid convoys."
-
- Please remember that 500 airlifts a week are going into Yugoslavia,
- and the UN envoy to Somalia, Mohamed Sahnoun, has declared Somalia
- to be safer than Yugoslavia. We do not begrudge Yugoslavians any of their
- food. But a similar resolve must be found to get food to Somalia.
