  56. ANOTHER LINE IN THE SAND? OR DAMAGE CONTROL.

  58. Can it be sheer coincidence that US Army Maj. Karen Jansen, leader
  59. of the UN weapons monitoring team in Iraq, targeted the
  60. agricultural ministry building to begin another standoff with
  61. Saddam Hussein at just about the same time that the House Banking
  62. Committee announced a case against high Bush administration
  63. officials for lying to congress and falsifying documents
  64. pertaining to the use of US agricultural credits for Iraq from
  65. 1989 right up to the beginning of the Persian Gulf War?
  66.  
  67. Is it also coincidence that only two weeks ago when the House of
  68. Representatives voted to appoint a special counsel to investigate
  69. the alleged wrong doing between the depts. of Commerce and Defense
  70. by transferring agricultural credits for cash and weapons, that US
  71. Army Major Karen Jansen's failed efforts to gain access to Iraq's
  72. Agricultural Ministry hardened into another
  73. confrontation/ultimatum stand?

  75. Is this now the ultimate fulfillment of Bush's election pledge to
  76. "do anything to get reelected."  From this administration's point
  77. of view, another war in the Gulf would possibly--
  78.  . eliminate documents in Iraq's Agricultural Ministry that could
  79.  corroborate the case against the administration currently pending
  80.    .

  82.  . restore George Bush's macho image when he enters the convention
  83.  hall in August enGULFed in yellow ribbons and high poll ratings.

  85.  . restore defense spending to set America back on the war economy
  86.  road.

  88. The Congress and the Candidates should immediately debate the use
  89. of the UN as a military tool to enhance the candidacy of George
  90. Bush and the possible obstruction of justice in targeting the
  91. building in Iraq most likely to contain documents embarrassing to
  92. the Bush administration (the 1992 version of the Iran Contra paper
  93. shredder now appears to be US bombers).

  95. Hopefully it may not be long before the American voters forget the
  96. lines in the sand and draw a new line on Pennsylvania Avenue.
