- I have an idea to combat negative campaigning. The Clinton/Gore campaign
- can have a person monitor the speeches by Bush and Quayle. This monitor
- would then keep track of the time spent on negative comments about Clinton
- or Gore (or even "liberal democrates"), time spent on the Bush/Quayle view
- of issues, and time spent talking about generic things like "we need to
- keep faith in America".
-
- These numbers could be compared against Clinton/Gore speeches.
-
- A weekly "What did George Say?" announcement could be made about the
- negative content of Bush/Quayle speeches and the lack of discussion about
- specific issues.
-
- Since I'm not part of the democratic machinery, anyone is welcome to pass
- this suggestion along to someone who is a part of it.
