  12. I just installed HP's Unofficial (Gigantic) Emacs, which is version
  13. 18.58, on an HP 9000/730 running HP-UX 8.07.

  15. Several packages don't work properly.  In particular, ispell hangs
  16. within emacs, though it works fine outside.  I have traced the hang to
  17. a send-string command in ispell.el, and send-string even seems to hang
  18. when I ask about it, via Ctrl-H F.
  19.  
  20. Can anyone tell me what the problem is??  Failing that, where is
  21. send-string defined, where should I look for a corruption?
