- I'm new to USENET and GNUS, so please bear with me if this is an FAQ...
-
- When I post an article, GNUS stuffs in all the wonderous header lines and slaps
- the "~/.signature" file onto the end. It then passes the buffer to "inews -h",
- which promptly slaps another one on!
-
- I've got round it for now by setting "gnus-signature-file" to nil, stopping
- GNUS doing the biz. Trouble is, I might want to use the
- "~/.signature-DISTRIBUTION" feature one day, so I'd like a more permanent cure.
-
- "man inews" doesn't mention a flag for turning of appending the sig file, but
- "man Pnews" does mention the DOTDIR environment variable. Could I set this to
- somewhere silly (like /dev/null) so inews thinks I haven't got a sig file, or
- do I have to hack inews myself?
-
- TIA
