- Has anyone else had problems with Emacs going into a garbage collecting loop
- after using GNUS for a while? I tend to use Emacs for everything (most notably
- mail, news, and normal editing), and after an hour or so, Emacs begins to
- garbage collect every few seconds (regardless of actions on my part), and
- become so sluggish as to be unusable. I kill it and start a new one.
-
- Any idea why this is happening, or what I might be able to do about it? I have
-
- (setq gc-cons-threshold 1000000)
-
- in my init file, since I'm running solo on a 6000.
-
- Any ideas appreciated by e-mail or post...
