  13. Has anyone else had problems with Emacs going into a garbage collecting loop
  14. after using GNUS for a while?  I tend to use Emacs for everything (most notably
  15. mail, news, and normal editing), and after an hour or so, Emacs begins to
  16. garbage collect every few seconds (regardless of actions on my part), and
  17. become so sluggish as to be unusable.  I kill it and start a new one.

  19. Any idea why this is happening, or what I might be able to do about it?  I have

  21.    (setq gc-cons-threshold 1000000)
  22.  
  23. in my init file, since I'm running solo on a 6000.
