- I agree with you 100 percent! I went to the concert, left early, and
- caught a Metrobus home. The bus was filled with people who were sure
- they wouldn't get into the Stadium-Armory Station in time for the last
- train. I sat by a couple who had come from North Carolina to go to the
- U2 concert, didn't know their way around town, and got on the bus
- out of desperation. Luckily, they didn't jump on the bus to Potomac
- Gardens....
-
- Metro does have a policy of running extra trains and buses for political
- demonstrations and marches downtown--marches which often attrack *less*
- than the 100,000 who will attend the two U2 shows. Perhaps Metro is
- pursuing some sort of political agenda?
-
- One last concert gripe (U2 was really great!)--all umbrellas were
- confiscated at the entrance to the stadium. We were told to leave them
- by an ticket booth but when we left the stadium they were gone (of course).
- If umbrellas aren't allowed into the stadium, this fact *should* be
- advertized ahead of time, much like the announcement that cameras and
- recording devices are banned. Anyone see a red or pink Totes umbrella
- anywhere? :-)
-
- Apparently, umbrellas are considered a weapon by security. Are umbrellas
- also banned from Redskins games? I know that the Orioles have umbrella
- give-away games....
