- Annual computer show & hamfest sponsored by the Foundation for
- Amateur Radio:
-
- Time: 8am to 3:30pm
- Place: Montgomery County Fairgrounds, Gaithersburg
- Admission: 4 or 5 dollars (I forget)
- Size: Enormous; a major event.
- Stuff: *Commercial vendors for computers and accessories
- *New and used ham radio equipment of all types
- *New and used shortwave receivers and scanners
- *Tons of shareware vendors and used commercial software.
- *Used computer things, data terminals & misc. electronics.
- *Unrecognizable technical junk and boat anchors.
- *Trinket vendors: tools, crafts, even office supplies.
- Food: Concession stands available; long lines. Best to bring
- your own snacks if you're gonna stay awhile.
- Bathrooms: Available but filthy w/long lines. GO BEFORE U LEAVE HOME!
-
- Misc: Most commercial vendors occupy the two buildings. The bulk
- of the flea market is outside.
-
- To Sell: Just show up with the general admission fee and a few extra
- bucks for the tailgating fee, and set up your table. If you
- want a nice shady spot under the trees between the two
- buildings, get there before 5am, otherwise you end up
- in the open field. In any event spaces fill up fast.
