  13.                 ASSOCIATE STAFF VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

  17. TITLE:  Engineer Research
  18.  
  19. RESPONSIBILITIES:
  20.         Manage and maintain facilities and personnel of the Communications
  21.         and Signal Processing Laboratory.  Software development for various
  22.         communications and signal processing algorithms on UNIX-based platforms.
  23.         Software development on general-purpose DSP chips for real-time signal
  24.         processing.  Manage and coordinate software development projects.
  25.         Applications and systems programming on UNIX-based systems.  Aid in
  26.         selection and acquision of various software systems in support of projects.

  29. REQUIREMENTS:

  31. Education:
  32.         B.S. in Computer Science or B. S. in Electrical Engineering with emphasis
  33.         in communications and signal processing required.  Graduate level training
  34.         is desired.
  35.  
  36. Experience:
  37.         Extensive knowledge of UNIX, X-windows, C, Fortran; programming experience
  38.         in C and UNIX-shell is required.  Some experience in programming
  39.         DSP (such as DSP32C or TMS320C25) is required.  Must have experience in
  40.         operations management, UNIX systems programming, software development,
  41.         project management, and language development.

  43. SALARY:
  44.         Negotiable; commensurate with experience (minimum:   $30,959)
  45.  
  46. BENEFITS:
