  12. A query for the wisdom of the net...

  14. I'm looking for an application framework/class library/function
  15. library that allows application designers to design towards a GUI
  16. platform but still support character terminals.  Obviously, there
  17. isn't a complete one-to-one mapping of GUI functionality to terminal
  18. functionality, but I'd like to come close.

  20. The background of this request is that our application must initially
  21. run on character terminals, but ultimately on workstations.  I'd like
  22. to be able to base most of the design on the workstation target.

  24. I'm interested in both C++ and C information, and our environment is
  25. Unix, terminals and X Windows.
  26.  
  27. PS.  I'm not concerned about having to relink or even slightly modify
  28. the application to make the terminal-to-GUI transition.  I just want
  29. to come close.

  31. PPS. Commercial or free/shareware is fine.
