  11. Hello out there .. I am trying to set up a SparcII Server (not Station) as
  12. a soft rip, that will generate screen bitmaps of EPS files for use in fast 
  13. page layout with EPS files. I have some problems however ...

  15. Is it possible to start the OpenWindows on a cpu with just a tty connected.
  16. Ie. no framebuffer and no keyboard/mouse.

  18. I have seen the option -nodev in the complainings from xnews.
  19. This is not documented in the online manual !!??.

  21. Anyway - If I try the -nodev option to xnews(1), it seems to start OK,
  22. but the NeWS (PostScript) interpreter complains about the missing /framebuffer

  24. If I have the framebuffer (cgsix in a SparcII Server) but no keyboard, xinit
  25. complains about the missing keyboard/mouse and exits.

  27. By the way if I have an X-server on say, a 1-bit B/W framebuffer, is it
  28. then possible to work with (unmanaged) windows of larger depth and/or windows
  29. with attached colormaps.

  31. Are there any ways to configure yourself out of these problems.
