- System: Sun SPARCstation IPX, SunOS 4.1.1, X11R4.
- Problem: Occasionally, perhaps one in four or one in every five times I
- exit X, I get a stream of <ctrl>-D characters being spit out from somewhere,
- which causes a stream of "Use 'logout' to logout." messages to appear on my
- screen. After about twenty of them, the machine logs me out. That's OK,
- I guess, as that is what I want to do when I get out of X most of the time.
-
- Question 1: What's causing this stream of <ctrl>-D characters?
- Question 2: How can I fix it?
-
- Details: My .xinitrc file initiates various xterms and a clock in the
- background, then runs 'twm' in the foreground. I get out of 'twm' and X
- by selecting a menu item in a 'twm' popup menu. I then call 'clear_colormap'
- and 'kbd_mode -a' to restore the default colormap and restore the keyboard.
- It is here that my problem occurs.
