  23. On the Intergraph, it's big and clunky, it doesn't even have a volume
  24. control let alone auto-play, and I have never seen it go wrong in any way.

  26. The Sun demo has more features than my $1200 Cambridge Audio CD player at
  27. home [maybe that's not surprising, though; they go for minimalist quality],
  28. but it also dumped core the first time I tried it, because the Version string
  29. was too long to fit into the buffer provided...

  36. Mailtool doesn't work with over 1750 or so messages - it won't let you see
  37. any more.  I have no idea why this totally pointless and arbitrary limit is
  38. there.  It also rewrites aliases that contain quotes incorrectly.

  40. On the other hand, Intergraph don't ship a mailtool at all, and the RS/6000
  41. has an abomination of a thing that lets you click on a sort icon, type lines
  42. to be sorted and view the results in a window with no `save' option (I kid you
  43. not, it's a whole new kind of pathetic).  Log on to an Ultrix machine and
  44. do `size /usr/bin/dxclock' if it's there.  A 3 MByte clock??

  46. Me, I'll stick with Sun any day.  The icons might not be quite as pretty the
  47. IBM ones, the baroque fantasies of Intergraph Environ V are missing,
  48. but I can get work done.

  50. The OPEN LOOK UI could be one of the best things that's happened to Unix
  51. workstations since NeWS.  Let's hope it doesn't have the same fate.
