  14. I defined several fonts in my .Xdefaults file: courier-bold, new century 
  15. bold, bitstream charter-bold, both in full name format, with * abreiviations,
  16. and with aliases I found in xlsfonts and fonts.dir, fonts.alias files.

  18. when I
  19. 'm on the sun work stations with a sparc file server, running "openwin"
  20. complains it can't find these fonts. The same fonts are ALL perfectly ok
  21. when I LOGIN REMotely via telnet from tektronix xp27 and xp330's; when
  22. I login via telenet from pc's running pc-nfs/hummingbirds eXceedp, all's ok,
  23. except when I start up certain applications, then it complains about
  24. not finding new century-bold-i-14 fonts.

  26. what goes?  why is it that only the TEK remote logins are completely ok?
