- Yesterday, I posted an inquiry about why a script we have been using to
- rasterize postscript, stopped working under OW3.0.
-
- I received some useful info. John.Benninghoff@Corp.Sun.COM replied that:
-
- >The ability to rasterize PS files has been removed from xnews due to font
- >licensing issues. NeWSPrint can rasterize PS files since it includes a
- >license to print the included fonts.
-
- I also received a reply from Larry Virden (lvirden@cas.org), who offered
- a new version of his ps2bits script with the caveat that it won't work
- with all fonts (I assume that means all fonts that were available in OW2.0).
-
- Due to our need to perform these rasterizations frequently and as seamlessly
- as possible, we will probably start doing most of them via Freedom of the
- Press, a product which we have already purchased here for use on one machine.
- So far, FOTP has proven to be a fairly stable/reliable product.
