- I saw a demo of a system developed by Gain Technology. The
- product is called Gain Momemtum. I would probably best describe
- it as a sophisticated Hypercard environment for Unix workstations
- (e.g. SPARCs). I've been told that Sun's Answerbook is built on
- their product, and that they (Gain Tech) are now a wholly-owned
- subsidiary of Sybase. I'm in the market for such a product, (user
- interface prototyping, hypertext, multimedia support, running on a Sun).
- However, their package price of about $150K is way out of my league.
- Are there some similar packages already available (e.g. Hypercard like
- capability for the Sun under X-windows)? Anything for free? Anything
- under 10K/license? I'm not interested in GUI builders, as I already
- have those. Has anyone worked with Gain's product, and can offer an
- honest evaluation?
-
- Please respond by email, as I have cross-posted. I'll submit a summary
- if there is interest.
-
- Thanks in advance,
-
