We're in the process of upgrading from an old Altos 2086 running
Altos XENIX to some yet-undecided 486 box running SCO UNIX.  We've
been using the Uniplex WP which Altos supplied and wonder which WP
to get for the new system.

I've heard not-so-favorable comments here about WordPerfect for UNIX,
and it's probably much more than we need anyway (I own WordPerfect
for DOS and can't imagine the staff here ever needing most of it's
features - I never have).

Can anyone provide comments/experiences of their own.  What about
SCO Lyrix, MS Word for UNIX, or others?  If you're a vendor or VAR,
which WP do you recommend to your clients and why?

The users here are computer unsophisticated so user-friendliness is
a must.  Use will consist mostly of light WP (memos, letters, etc.)
with occasional mail-merge.  Desirable features include auto paragraph
reformatting, on-line help, integrated spell-checker, etc.  Basically
we want something nicer and easier to use than the old Uniplex
currently in use.

Thanks for any comments.  If demand calls for it, I'll summarize the
responses.
