- A friend of mine has a Xenix system. To make a long story short, a few weeks
- ago the tape drive stopped working. Dumps are usually performed using the
- command "tar c6v /", but now that command locks up (no error messages from
- tar or in /usr/adm/messages) and no data is sent to the tape drive. The
- tape drive and controller card have both been replaced to no avail.
-
- I did some browsing on his system and didn't see anything out of the ordinary,
- but having never worked on a Xenix system I don't know its quirks like my
- systems. If anyone has had a similar problem, please mail me any information
- you can and I'll relay it to my friend. Thanks in advance for all replies.
