  14. A friend of mine has a Xenix system.  To make a long story short, a few weeks
  15. ago the tape drive stopped working.  Dumps are usually performed using the
  16. command "tar c6v /", but now that command locks up (no error messages from
  17. tar or in /usr/adm/messages) and no data is sent to the tape drive.  The
  18. tape drive and controller card have both been replaced to no avail.

  20. I did some browsing on his system and didn't see anything out of the ordinary,
  21. but having never worked on a Xenix system I don't know its quirks like my
  22. systems.  If anyone has had a similar problem, please mail me any information
  23. you can and I'll relay it to my friend.  Thanks in advance for all replies.
