  14. I am currently managing two machines which run Unix (HP-UX and DEC/Ultrix).

  16. Being a university,  we have to constantly add accounts and before giving
  17. the 
  18. accounts we should be able to check for their validity.  I have been assigned 
  19. to write a "newuser" program for these machines.  All the necessary security
  20. checks should be done.  A "valid" student should be able to sit at a terminal
  21. and "give" himself/herself an account.  We get a tape of all the list to students
  22. who are registered.

  24. Before I start working on this, I just wanted to find out if there is any
  25. free/shareware software available.  Basically, I am looking for this program
  26. from any university/institution where it is currently being used.  I can
  27. "tailor-fit" the program to suit our needs.
