- I want to replace my Adaptec 1542 hostadapter with an Adaptec 1522,
- which is also supported in SCO Unix 3.2v4.
-
- How can I do that, without reinstalling the operating system and
- therefore loosing all my configuration work ?
- It must be possible to edit some files in /etc/conf to configure the
- system to another hostadapter. But the looser at our german sco
- distributor don't know how to do that. They say, I have to reinstall
- the operating system.
-
- So I ask the net.
-
- P.S.: Can someone recommend a german SCO distributor which has a good
- support ? We tried two different distributors, both have a very poor
- support. The guys at their "hotlines" don't know much about SCO or
- unix in general. If I tell them, there is a bug in the Microsoft C
- 6.0, it can't compile the following statement:
-
- const char *p[2];
- p[0] = "wrzlbrmpft";
-
- they tell me, my code is wrong, the compiler is ok !!!
-
- If we don't find a better SCO distributor, we have to switch to
- another brand of unix. We don't care if our unix is from SCO, ISC,
- Dell or whatever. What we need is a working unix and a good support !
