- I use a Wangtek 5525ES under Esix 4.0.3. I've had no problem backup up
- more than 500MB to it. I have a DC6250 here which it put 262MB on,
- and a DC6150 with 160MB. The only tape I ever had a problem reading
- was a Sony 6150. I don't buy Sony's any more.
-
- It doesn't write 60MB tapes, but it reads them just fine. This is a
- hardware limitation of the 5525ES. I've written 60MB tapes on our old
- Archive's (OEM'd by Sun) at work and read them in without a hitch.
-
- Only one problem with this drive: it's noisy! The Archive's I've used
- purr--this Wangtek whines.
-
- I used this drive briefly under ISC 2.0.1. It wouldn't handle 525MB
- tapes (by which I mean they simply wouldn't work) but it did fine
- with 150's and 250's. This experience may or may not apply to other
- SysVr3.2's.
