  10. I'm putting together some hardware that is going to run Esix Unix, and I
  11. have some questions about Ethernet controllers.  According to Esix, the
  12. following cards (among others) are supported:

  14.     3COM 3C503
  15.     3COM 3C507
  16.     Western Digital / SMC 8003
  17.     Western Digital / SMC 8013
  18.  
  19. 1. Which of the above are 16-bit cards?
  20.  
  21. 2. What are the common names (the names seen in advertisements) for the
  22.    Western Digital / SMC products?  I see a lot of ads for:
  23.  
  24.     Ethercard-Plus 16
  25.     Ethercard Elite Plus 16-bit
  26.         etc.
  27.  
  28.    Are these the same thing?  Do they correspond to the 8003, the 8013,
  29.    or neither?
  30.  
  31. 3. Any advice about which Ethernet card to choose for best performance?
