  28. There are versions of C-news available for SCO. I have a version
  29. that is mostly shell scripts. It is works fine for what we use
  30. news for. If you are interested, send me mail. Otherwise..

  32. The problem is related to the 'inews' command in /usr/lib/news.
  33. It can be modified with a bit editor. If you change all the 
  34. occurences of the '.UUCP' to '.COM' or whatever, it works.
  35. I originally did this when I was first trying to use B-News.
  36. But, I would never do it again.. C-news is a lot easier to 
  37. manage and has a some features that make administration of
  38. news a real joy. I wouldn't mind getting the C-news to compile.
  39. But, I tried every possible configuration I could think of in the
  40. config program/script. I haven't had any success getting it to compile.

  42. I would highly recommend using C-news.. SCO should update that
  43. SLS. I can post the modified Inews for B-news if you are interested. I have
  44. it on the system here somewhere. The version of C-news I have is
  45. installed through custom.
