  16.  I have a couple of questions about Unix.

  18. 1. can a program crash the processor on which it is running ? if so how?.

  20. 2. the machines (sunSparcs) in my lab are connected through an ethernet cable.
  21.    how can i simulate a break in the cable on a machine. what i mean is  the
  22.    machine whose cable is broken (simulated to be) should not be able to
  23.    communicate with the rest of the world.

  25. i am writing an application in which i need to simulate both 1 and 2. i would
  26. appreciate if any of you could answer these.
