- When we got our 8mm drive (1988) there was no such thing as data certified
- tapes. We used regular video tapes and retired them after 25 passes
- (the standard guide for broadcast video tape). Never had any
- trouble. Now that they are available, I'd probably go with the data
- tapes (our drive has been disconnected for about 1-1/2 years - I gotta
- get that thing hooked back up! :-) ) but we used video tapes for two
- years with no trouble.
