  10. Hi all,

  12. I am writing a program that needs to check the processes of
  13. a session to determine whether or not a particular program
  14. is already running.  It seems to me that ps knows how to do
  15. find the child processes of a session.  How does it do it?
  16. Is there ps source available somewhere or is there a
  17. subroutine I'm just not finding?
  18.  
  19. I'm running on AIX but we'd like it if it would run on other
  20. variants as well, especially Ultrix.
