- I have been problems getting 386bsd to work on my system (as outlined in
- a previous post). Anyway, I think that it is linked to bad blocks on my
- HD. I was wondering if anyone could explain how blocks on the file
- system map to cylinders and heads, or if there is a way to make newfs
- read the bad block table for my hd before booting it.
-
- There are bad blocks early enough in the device to get into the inode
- tables. Any suggestions on how to get it working would be very helpful.
- I am looking forward to getting the system working (I just trashed
- linux for 386bsd, and am missing unix, might switch to mach if I can't
- get 386bsd working).
-
- thanks again,
- alex
