  10. The Adaptec AH1542B does not appear to enable synchronous mode SCSI by
  11. default.  This seems to be done explicitly by the driver on Suns.
  12. Pace's as.c driver does not appear to do anything like that.
  13.  
  14. Does anybody know of a reason why the AH1542B should not be jumpered to
  15. auto-enable synchronous mode SCSI for devices that support it?
