- The Adaptec AH1542B does not appear to enable synchronous mode SCSI by
- default. This seems to be done explicitly by the driver on Suns.
- Pace's as.c driver does not appear to do anything like that.

- auto-enable synchronous mode SCSI for devices that support it?
