  20. make a living as well. As soon as you start advertising the stuff, you
  21. *have* to charge money just to make ends meet. The smallest ad in UNIX
  22. Magazin costs over DM 600; last time we put an ad in there, it led to
  23. about 3 orders. And we sell our tapes for DM 200 - when you add in the
  24. cost of the tape, we lost money on the deal. We came to the conclusion
  25. that we should stop advertising.

  32. As you see, nobody's making much money. The charge is not for the
  33. software, just for the handling. I don't know what kind of copyright
  34. notice would protect against that, even if it made sense.

  48. Don't misunderstand me. If you want 386bsd from me, you can call us up
  49. and get it via uucp for nothing. But it costs more money than you
  50. think to maintain archives and supply ``free'' software (yes, we
  51. really do put that in parentheses in our literature). The FSF charges
  52. $200 for their tapes, by the way.
