  21. Chris has been doing a yeoman's job of taking care of bug reports, patches,
  22. and updates.  He is really making an outstanding contribution.  I didn't
  23. mean to castigate him personally -- I was trying to make the point that any
  24. claims of individual property rights in material integrated into 386BSD-0.1
  25. or 4.3BSD-NET2 may have an extremely adverse impact on the overall concept.

  27. Chris, Bill, and Lynne are making a major contribution to academia.  I hope
  28. they will see tangible reward for their efforts.  I certainly am going to
  29. send them some small contribution which I can afford.  Perhaps others will
  30. be able to help them continue this work with similar contributions, grants,
  31. contracts, or other side benefits which might help them regain some of the
  32. losses they have endured to carry this work to a quite usable product.
