  13.    We have been noticing some problems when we login and try to
  14.    su to root.  The su command SOMETIMES just hangs, I never get a prompt...  
  15.    Sometimes if we do something in another window it will finish and
  16.    get a root shell.

  18.    I have applied the 2 patches to the kernel.  I have also noticed 
  19.    that it seems to hapen a lot when we are running X. I put print statements
  20.    in the su command, and it is hanging on doing the openlog(syslog.....)

  22.    Does this mean that there is somthing wrong with /dev/console?
  23.    Or the xconsole program? or syslog?  Anybody have any idea's?
