  13.     I wanted to post a summery and answer to what the problem was. It took
  14. me forever to find it! :(

  21.     The problem was, for some unknown reason, in the nodename file in
  22. /etc/nodename file. The file originally contained the name localhost. But when
  23. puting in on the ethernet network at school I needed to change it to "amiga".
  24. Instead it got changed to "amiga.cs.usu.edu". This caused no end of trouble.
  25. Well I finally got a chance to see the boot up and its error message about an
  26. invalid node name and fixed the problem.

  28.     All in all it would have been alot easier if there had been some real
  29. information in the manuals.

  31.     Unfortunately the machine that Jeff bought was old and came with
  32. version 43beta or something like that. It is terrible! We have ordered the
  33. update though from commodore and I sincerely hope that the latest version is
  34. better that this old beta version.

  36.     Can anyone tell me what window manager the new version runs?

  38.     The current version that we have is an old OpenLook system and it is
  39. terrible as well! :)
