- Ever since we had to reload our 3.1.5 AIX system from tape in June, and
- even on our brand-new 3.2 system, I get the following error message if
- I do an "ls -ld .." in the top-level directory of any mounted filesystem
- other than "/" :
-
- ..: No permission
-
- This means, for example, the pwd command doesn't work. Is this a bug
- in AIX or something really wrong with the permissions? If I cd into
- the parent directory, I can see that the permissions are set to 777.
- The error messages don't make sense.
-
- This problem showed up only after a complete reinstall from a brand-new
- IBM tape. Previous to the crash necessitating this, we were running
- 3.1.5 without this problem.
