- Some questions about AIX3.2:
-
- 1. How do you get rid of <defunct> processes?
- I tried the usual kill and kill -9 but they refuse to die.
- They seem to stick around until the next cold boot.
-
- 2. How do you check who/what is keeping a harddisk device busy?
- When I tried to unmount a harddisk (/home), it gave me a message
- "DEVICE BUSY", even though I was the only one logged in (as root)
- and other login is disabled and my current working directory is
- not in it. How do I check what application or daemon is keeping
- it in a busy state?
-
- Thanks in advance for anyone who response.
