  22. This is probably a FAQ, but I haven't seen it or a 3.2 FAQ list yet, so...

  24. Could some kind soul explain to me how what IBM ships relates to what MIT
  25. provides, and how to compile network available X applications under the
  26. IBM 3.2 scheme?  I found a README file in the /usr/lpp/X11 subdirectory
  27. that enabled me to generate 'the rest of' X11R4 (though libXaw.a seems to
  28. have gotten trashed when I did a 'make clean' at the end (which the README
  29. did /not/ tell me to do, I will admit)).  I also have a script I got off
  30. the net some time ago that seems to be a replacement for the missing
  31. xmkmf.  Using this, I got xrn to compile, but only after I edited the
  32. generated Makefile to set TOP=/usr/lpp/X11 so it knew that the various
  33. libxxx.a's actually existed.  But when I run xrn, it doesn't seem to find
  34. it's app-defaults file, even though make install put it in the right place.
  35. The quoted statement above is how I'm working around this for now, but
  36. it is definately not what I /want/ to do.  Can anyone help me out?  Thanks.
