- I am running DesqView/X on a Gateway 2000 486DX2/50 over a Telepath
- 14.4kbit modem at 38400 to a RS/6000 Model 530. Other than the
- typical problems with remote modems (intermittent line noise, etc), it
- is working fine. It is a bit slow but tolerable. I'm looking forward
- to attempting a PPP link when PPP becomes available on both PC/TCP and
- AIX (this will allow higher speeds). The biggest pain is that I can't
- afford the luxury of a dedicated dialup slip line, so I have to dial
- in on one line, establish slip on another, hang up and dial in on the
- slip line. Then I have to do the reverse when I am finished. It
- would sure be nice if someone would write a "login" process that would
- allow the selection of a slip or normal connection (anyone have one???).
