- For the 2 previous months, I had successfully used mksysb to back up
- my machine. Now mksysb fails with (from smit.log):
-
- [Aug 08 1992, 06:39:40]
- Command_to_Execute follows below:
- >> mkszfile -f'' && mksysb '/dev/rmt0.1'
-
- Output from Command_to_Execute follows below:
- ---- start ----
-
- bosboot: Boot image is 3097 512 byte blocks.
- mkinsttape failed
-
- 0512-0016 mksysb: Attempt to create a bootable tape failed:
- mkinsttape /dev/rmt0.1 failed with return code 5.
-
- ---- end ----
-
- Reading the mksysb script it looks like this is the step where the
- bosinst image is written to tape. Does the bosinst image not exist?
- I've increased the sizes of /tmp & /var to:
-
- /dev/hd9var 8192 7412 9% 87 4% /var
- /dev/hd3 16384 15796 3% 27 0% /tmp
-
- I have no manual pages for mkinsttape or bosinst.
-
-
- Any hints as to the problem? Thanks in advance.
