  12. When compiling Fortran program under GNU emacs 18.57 (M-x compile), users
  13. report that Fortran error messages are not parsed properly by M-x next-error.
  14. Upon inspection, the error messages produced under the xlf 2.2.109.1 compiler
  15. under AIX 3.2.1 do not include the file name at the beginning, probably
  16. confusing compile.el

  18. xlc has -qsrcmsg options that change the format of the error messages; I see
  19. no such flag for xlf that would allow compile.el to do its job.
