- It seems to me that, if someone at a "secure" government net site wants to
- disable the local finger daemon, the well-known port number for that process
- could be bound to a null process. That makes a lot more sense that ranting
- in paranoid fashion about wanting to know exactly who looked up fairly
- unimportant information on a user from across the Internet. Yes, the word
- "ranting" is probably a little strong, but fingering someone is pretty much
- an innocent act. Do you also regret that there's no mechanism for knowing
- who looks up your name in the phone book?
