  19. Unlike the other respondents, I read this as the user has an authorised need
  20. to do something that requires root access. If this is correct, and it does not
  21. involve a command that can spawn a shell, you may wish to look at one of the
  22. two (that I know of!) pd root access programs: sudo and op. Either of them
  23. allow the sysadmin to control what commands can be done as root and log what
  24. is done (the log of course can be erased however). Sudo is availible on 
  25.
