- You didn't really give enough info, but I'll give it a shot.

- More than likely what is happening is that your named can't resolve a
- domain, and sends a request to your nameservers as configured in your
- named startup files. The more nameservers you specify, the longer it will
- take to "time out". Also, if you have a SL/IP link to your nameservers,
- it will be slow too.

- Suggestion: find a nameserver which is "closer" to you (i.e. takes less
- time to PING).
