- I am administering a network of three Sparcstation II's. Disk: .5GB, .5GB, 1.2GB.
- I just installed Depot, and the README contained the following lines:
-
- "AFS sites should define USE_FSINFO. Sites without AFS should comment out the
- starting with AFSLIBS, AFSCFLAGS, AFSOBJ." [sic]
-
- I used archie.mcgill.ca to search for any programs called AFS or afs, and
- came up with a lot of nothing that looked like a software package related
- to Depot.
-
- There were some files in the distribution called AndrewFileSystem.*, and I
- guess it is not a coincidence that this acronym-izes to AFS. I did an
- archie for [Aa]ndrew, and found a bunch of stuff that seems to be related
- to X-windows. Nothing called AndrewFileSystem or anything like that.
-
- In any case, Depot compiled fine when I commented out the AFS lines, but I
- haven't used it yet---Do I really need AFS?
