- While strolling through the reference pages of a generated list of
- something-or-other (I think it was external references), I came across a
- useful but undocumented little "building block" called <$autorange>. This
- seems to combine entries that appear on several consecutive pages into
- one ranged entry. For example, if you have references to "OLC" on pages
- 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 11 and 12 you'll get
-
- OLC 1, 3-8, 11-12 (with <$autorange><$pagenum>)
- and
- OLC 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 11, 12 (with just <$pagenum>)
-
- Nifty, especially as it works in indexes too. However, as far as I can
- see it's undocumented.
-
- So... is there a *complete* list of these building blocks anywhere? There
- are several sets I can think of: variables, system variables,
- autonumbering and of course generated lists.
