- Hi all..
-
- I'm using FrameMaker 3.0 on a Mac Quadra 900, and I'm also using Frame
- 3.0 on Sun workstations.
- I prefer to create documents on the Macintosh (I like its interface
- better than the Sun, and I find Frame runs more sluggishly on our Sparcs
- anyway; and, I have a scanner on the Mac), but right now I need to load
- them in on the Sun to print, and also to distribute to other users.
- I've been scanning in pictures and including them in my documents;
- however, when I open the Macintosh-created document on the Sun, FrameMaker
- isn't always instrumental in bringing up the graphics.
- For example, it says in the console "Cannot load imported graphic ."
-
- I tried getting the graphics to the Sun side via other means (saving
- the graphics as EPS and then trying to import them on the Sun, or even
- installing FilterPack), but at best I was able to import the graphics
- successfully half of the time. (Actually, to be honest, I did it
- successfully ONCE -- but am unable to do it anymore..)
-
- This morning I loaded a Mac-created document on the Sun that had
- several scanned-in images; half of them came in, the other half didn't.
- This makes me think that it might be a memory problem, but these are
- small 300-dpi 8-bit greyscale images, and I've got 32 megs of RAM on
- the Sun.
-
- So... Anyone got any ideas?
-
- Does anyone currently use FrameMaker on both a Mac and a Sun? If so,
- what are your experiences with getting it to work?
-
- Any comments would be appreciated..
