- - It it the VDP RAM or the GROM that is slow? I think it is the GROM,
- - and you cannot get rid of it (it is in the XB cartridge and in
- - the console) unless you go to soething like XB II w/128K, putting it
- - all in RAM...
- - (Without GROM, of course, you wouldn`t have quite enough memory for
- - everything on an open-architectur9900 based computer).

- Joe, I've got this 32k on the 16 bit bus mod. It seems to have
- de-bottle necked the computer by 35%. While in the 32k 8 bit mode the
- text scrolling by is slow (on line w/BBS) but in the 16 bit mode the
- text/ansi just flys by. As a matter a fact it has to wait for more! And
- For some reason I was able to connect my TI with an IBM (direct w/a null
- modem cable) and xfer text/data at 9600 baud with no loss of
- charactors/data!! So all the while I thought it was the RS232 with this 1
- bit thing that created the bottle neck perventing us using 9600..
- THATS MY STORY, BOYS AND GIRLS!!
