- We would like to write 1GB files to a SUN server from a remote
- machine as quickly as possible. We tested NFS mounting disks
- and it is too slow.
-
- 1. Is there RAMDISK software available which can be NFS mounted?
- How fast is an NFS synchronous write even to a RAMDISK?
-
- 2. Would a RPC call directly to the SUN's memory be faster?
- At least the file wouldn't be split into small pieces.
-
- 3. Are there any other alternatives? We really don't care how
- long it takes the SUN to write these files to disk. We just
- want to get it there fast.
-
- Please email responses directly to woo@ames.arc.nasa.gov.
-
- Thanks.
