  14. We would like to write 1GB files to a SUN server from a remote
  15. machine as quickly as possible.  We tested NFS mounting disks
  16. and it is too slow.
  17.  
  18. 1.  Is there RAMDISK software available which can be NFS mounted?
  19. How fast is an NFS synchronous write even to a RAMDISK?
  20.  
  21. 2.  Would a RPC call directly to the SUN's memory be faster?
  22. At least the file wouldn't be split into small pieces.
  23.  
  24. 3.  Are there any other alternatives?  We really don't care how
  25. long it takes the SUN to write these files to disk.  We just
  26. want to get it there fast.
