- Howdy. I have a problem with a 3/60 I bought off the net; I've
- tried two motherboards so far, and that doesn't fix it, so I
- figure it's something we're doing wrong.
-
- Equipment:
- used 3/60, Hitachi 19" color, CG4, got it a week ago
- Sun 3 tape drive
- 4.1.1 Sun-3 tapes
- brand new 425Mb hard drive in tiny shoebox
- nice tight cables
-
- Problem:
- trying to boot from tape after poweron with the command
- 'b st()'
- from the monitor gives the following response:
- 'device not found'
-
- trying to boot from the disk with 'b sd(0,3,0)vmunix' gives the
- same response.
-
- This has happened with two motherboards now, so it almost has to be
- something we're doing.
-
- If anyone on the net can help me, please drop me a line.
-
- Thanks
- Jeff Goldader Disclaimer: They don't know what I say,
- goldader@hale.ifa.hawaii.edu I don't care what they think,
- and we're all happy that way.
-
- ps- don't tell me to get a sparc, I can't afford it
