  12. I have been shopping around for a Token Ring card for my
  13. SPARCstation IPX.  Most vendors have cards for the VME
  14. buses and cost approximately $3000 (with driver).  I need
  15. a card for the S-Bus and have found one made by Aurora Inc.
  16. and selling for $1000.

  18. My concern is why is the S-Bus card so cheap. Am I missing
  19. something here ?  I mean, will I take a performance hit with
  20. such a card because most of the protocols are perhaps implemented
  21. in software ?  Has anyone tried the Aurora cards ?  Any other
  22. recommendations ?

  24. As an aside, what is the difference between the VME bus and 
  25. the S-bus architectures ?
